Black Birds
Saw Three Black Birds eat'n today, Three flew in and one flew Away.Wear'n Sunday's best, silky feathers so fine,They hopped, then stopped, look'n for a place to dine.Their feast began surrounded by a morning dew,Each found plenty of eat'n to do.Then, without a chirp, they all were gone,All flew off from my backyard lawn.My silky black Birds may have flown away, But how God provides, is the lesson this day,Don't waste time worring "bout stuff no more, For God you see, will help us soar. He's set a table where we can eat too,Where all worry is gone, where He'll guide us to what's true. The Black Birds have showed us, there's but one thing to do,Just show up to His table, but I'm sure you knew.God has always just said, come feast with Me,I will feed you and clothe you, like Black Birds you see. It's up to us then to partake and dine,Just come as we are, never wait for a sign.(Sam McCrow March 31, 1994)
